Located in District 01, just next to Brookyln Social, a new three-nights-only pop up will see the chefs from Crown Street’s Zushi serving up a selection of their most popular dishes. The best bit? Entry – and sushi – is free. From October 30, you need only like Toshiba on Facebook to try some of the dishes that justly-sees Zushi in every discussion about the city’s best sushi.
The ‘seriously Japanese’ pop-up seeks to bring a sense of eccentric efficiency to the experience, which is embodied in not just a sushi train, but a sushi rollercoaster (seriously!). Order directly from your table through Toshiba tablets – welcome to the future of customer service – and in minutes, plates will proceed to whoosh around the room by way of the miniature roller coaster, stopping directly in front of each guest. It’s the ultra-modern sushi train we didn’t know we wanted ’til it existed; and it’s an experience well worth risking a bit of windswept wasabi. Geisha will be there to greet on entry and ‘salary-men’ also await.
Expect sashimi specials and assorted nigiri sushi boxes, as well as well as tech giveaways, with each night hosting competitions and Toshiba products as prizes. If you don’t mind getting a bit of soy sauce smeared on your touchscreen devices, this is well worth checking out.
Zushi will be rolling out this free spectacle between October 30 and November 1, 6-9pm. District 01, Randle Lane, Surry Hills. This article was produced in partnership with Toshiba.
