Fries are great but you know what would make them way better? If they were way bigger.

That’s the attitude of Harajuku Gyoza, at least. The Japanese restaurant chain has a history of taking any opportunity it can to bring a bit of Tokyo’s vibrant Harajuku district to Australia.

In 2016 it was the raindrop cake. In 2017, we got souffle pancakes. In 2018, it’s foot-long fries.

You read that correctly. We’re talking potatoes pounded in a specially-imported press, fried until they glow golden and finished with a choice of house-made shiitake mushroom and Katsuobushi salt or Japanese mayonnaise. The result is the most oversized side in history.

The foot-long fries are priced at $8 and are now available at any of the Harajuku Gyoza restaurants across Sydney. What’s not to like?
