Firedoor’s Lennox Hastie and Tedesca’s Brigitte Hafner Are Swapping Kitchens

Brigitte Hafner’s Tedesca Osteria on the Mornington Peninsula and Lennox Hastie’s Firedoor in Sydney are two of the hardest-to-book restaurants in the country.
Both are highly regarded for their woodfired cooking. Now, the experts behind the flames, Hafner and Hastie, are teaming up for two collab dinners. Each chef will travel to the other’s kitchen and prepare a one-night-only feast.
First up, Hastie and his team are making moves down to Red Hill in Victoria. They’ll collaborate with Hafner to deliver a five-course menu in Tedesca’s dining room – set in a 1940s weatherboard – on Saturday June 25.
The Firedoor team will explore the kitchen garden and work with the regional restaurant’s suppliers to source ingredients – including mussels and clams from Corner Inlet, birds from Great Ocean Ducks and pork from Bundarra. Join the waitlist to be the first to hear about bookings.
On Saturday July 23, it’s Hafner’s turn. She’ll debut Tedesca in Sydney with a five-course menu at Firedoor that will see her relaxed yet refined cooking style meet the frenetic energy of Hastie’s kitchen. Reservations for the Sydney dinner will be released on Monday June 17, but you can join the waitlist now.
