Owner of Bar Brosé Ed Loveday announced today on Instagram that it has closed.
The Darlinghurst restaurant opened in April 2016 with Analiese Gregory as chef and co-owner. Highlights from the menu included a comté gougère (a French pastry) and a blooming onion (a whole onion cut to resemble a flower which is battered and deep-fried).
Gregory left in June this year to take over the kitchen at Franklin in Tasmania. Adam Wolfers and Marc Dempsey took over for a two-month stint, celebrating Jewish and Eastern European flavours. The pop-up finished on August 27.
Loveday will still be making cocktails at his other restaurant, ACME.
