Sydney’s biggest burger festival Burgapalooza is on this weekend. For the second year, Hashtag Burgers is teaming up with Menulog to bring the best of Sydney’s burger scene to Marrickville’s Fraser Park.
And we’ve got our hands on the menu.
Down N’ Out will bring us the OMG Burger, complete with a beef-and-bone-marrow patty, porcini-bacon-butter sauce, garlic aioli and crunchy onions. It’s all encased in a seeded bun.
BL Burgers’ is unveiling the Power Of Juan, which features a beef patty, American cheese, tequila, agave-bacon jam, jalapeño jelly, pickled Spanish onion, avocado aioli and lettuce. Burger Head will also bring the Beef and Hash, which does what it says on the tin. It comes with an Angus Beef patty, a bacon-and-cheese hash, gravy, BH sauce and dill pickles.
For the first time, Burgapalooza is offering vegetarian burgers – alternative versions of the aforementioned creations. BL Burgers will swap in the beef patty for a black bean patty in The Power of Frijoles Burger, Down N’ Out are replacing their beef-and-bone-marrow patty for a grilled mushroom, and Burger Head are popping in smoked BBQ pulled mushrooms in place of their Angus Beef patty.
For a meatier feast, Superior Burger will showcase the Piggy Back, with house-made salt-aged beef, McClure’s pickles, fermented pork jowl, nduja salami, mustard and cheese in an organic bun.
This year, Burgapalooza is also adding dessert. Grumpy Donuts will serve loaded doughnut fries; there will also be gelato and thickshakes from N2 Extreme Gelato, and Black Star Pastry’s legendary strawberry and watermelon cake.
Buy tickets for $15, and you’ll get a $10 Menulog voucher as part of your entry.
Burgapalooza is on 12pm–10pm this Saturday April 1 and Sunday April 2 at Fraser Park, Marrickville.
