Texan barbeque is all about beef: slow-cooked brisket with a blackened crust. We probably don’t have to tell you it’s delicious. If you still need some convincing, Bulleit Bourbon and Broadsheet are setting up our very own Texan BBQ cookout at one of our favourite city bars, The Barber Shop.
Sydney’s lords of pop-up barbeque, Smokey O’s, will be firing up the offset smoker to cook up a load of brisket - along with some of their signature Kansas-style burnt ends. And, that barbeque guru behind The Dip at GoodGod, Andrew Levins, has been brewing some bottles of his secret sauce especially for your finger-lickin’ pleasure. For those of you who like other things to mop up your saucy meat, there will be sides and salads on offer too.
And, as with any American barbeque worth its salt, there’s an ample supply of whiskey, courtesy of Bulleit Bourbon, which will be going in cocktails or appearing completely unadorned.
