On a hidden back corner in Neutral Bay, Central Baking Depot has been holding the fort for the Bourke Street Bakery enterprise since 2011. The little sister offshoot of the much loved Bourke Street original brought the baking prowess of the team to the North Shore, offering locals a view into the workings of the bakery via a side street window.
But changes have been afoot, with Bourke Street Bakery taking over the Central Baking Depot venue on May 6, rebranding it with the Bourke Street name and bringing the Bourke Street menu to Neutral Bay.
The team have already added Wilbur’s Place in Kings Cross and the After Hours Wine Bar (at Bourke Street Bakery, Potts Point) to their repertoire, so this latest venture seems a natural progression.
“Neutral Bay is now a seriously good food destination and we’re hoping to play our part in that,” says co-founder David McGuinness. We’re looking forward to seeing the Neutral Bay branch settling into the Grosvenor Street food precinct.
