Smart-casual beachside pub Bondi Beach Public Bar is celebrating its reopening after a coronavirus hibernation by selling elected food and drinks at half price for the entire month of June. That means $5 tacos, $10 Margaritas and Espresso Martinis, $10 burgers, $15 steaks and $5 wines and beers.

The public bar reopens on Wednesday June 3 at 5pm in accordance with stage-two Covid-19 social distancing rules, meaning it can host up to 50 people in the bar, 50 in its dining area and 50 in its heated outdoor area.

The pub is also bringing back its Friday and Saturday DJ nights (although punters will have to remain seated and adhere to social distancing). DJ Levins will play what he’s coined “sit hop”, R’n’B and reggaeton from 6pm Friday nights. Saturday party Affection returns in restricted-capacity dining mode, with resident DJs Charlie Chux, Parihaka and Pink Lloyd mixing from 6pm.

Bookings are open if you want a spot guaranteed, or you can try your luck with a walk in.
