Earlier this month laid-back eastern suburbs pub Bondi Beach Public Bar announced it would be celebrating coming out of coronavirus hibernation by selling a bunch of food and drinks for half price during June. Now, as we continue to become accustomed to venturing out once more, it's decided to extend the deal for the whole of July. That means $5 tacos, $12 Margaritas and Espresso Martinis, $10 burgers, $15 steaks and $5 wines and beers for a whole extra month.

The pub reopened on Wednesday June 3 in accordance with stage-two Covid-19 social distancing rules, and from tomorrow will adhere to new rules which dictate four square metres of space for each patron. Bookings are available for indoor seating, with multiple sessions each day, while outdoor seating is reserved for walk-in customers.

When the pub reopened at the beginning of June, it also brought back its Friday and Saturday DJ nights (although punters have to remain seated and adhere to social distancing). DJ Levins plays what he’s coined “sit hop”, R’n’B and reggaeton from 6pm Friday nights. Saturday party Affection takes place in restricted-capacity dining mode, with resident DJs Charlie Chux, Parihaka and Pink Lloyd mixing from 6pm.
