Spring is here with the sun, team – and there’s a bunch of events (with outstanding drinks) you should get yourself to. Here are all the details.

Fanatico Sundays at Grifter, Marrickville

Marrickville favourite Grifter is teaming up with Fanatico Records, the groove hounds that’ve just moved in down the road, for a monthly music-fuelled Sunday sesh. Fanatico Sundays is the free-entry party taking over the brewery on the last Sunday of the month, with all-vinyl DJ sets, plenty of beer and pizza straight out of the Fortune Pizza oven. Fanatico Sundays is scheduled for September 28 and October 26, from midday. Bookings encouraged.

Tetsuya Wakuda snack and highball at Prefecture 48, CBD

Sydney has had a Tets-sized hole in its dining scene since the esteemed restaurant closed in July last year. But you can get in on Tetsuya Wakuda’s cooking at Prefecture 48, as part of Suntory Bar, until November 8. Nab yourself a fizzy, minty highball – powered by golden single-malt Japanese whisky – and a snacky duo for $40.

The Choux Duo delivers one bite heroing braised Wagyu and potato, with the depth of miso and dark chocolate, and another with Tassie-grown Dutch cream potatoes and caviar.

Jazz night at Ester Spirits, Marrickville

Ester Spirits is a backyard distillery turned world-class spirit house – and drink-in Marrickville distillery – from couple Felix Clark and Corinna Kovner. You can drop in for drinks on Friday and Saturdays, but Friday nights is when it gets really hot.

For $25, you’re in for one of Sydney’s happiest meals – an icy Martini and cheeseburger, with smooth live jazz. On select Fridays. The next are scheduled for September 19, and October 3, 17 and 31.

The Juice of Giorgio at Attenzione, Redfern

The Italian-ish charmer in the old Sunshine Inn space has been adored since it opened in August last year. Along with jazzy Sundays, a funky menu and wine aplenty, the team hosts events that you should keep an eye out for. A hot one incoming is The Juice of Giorgio, that brings the Sydney-based low-intervention wine importer/lord to the dining room – with a mix of drops he’s been collaborating with producers on. The event is on all day on October 5, with the à la carte menu, snacky specials and by-the-glass wine. No tickets, but bookings encouraged.

Sunset Swirl at Pier Bar, Dawes Point

The bar at swish harbourfront hotel Pier One is literally on the water, and for one week you can toast the new season with a Sunset Swirl. The pastel-hued mix of vodka, Aperol and Liquor 43 is cut with passionfruit and vanilla – frozen and served soft-serve-style. The cocktail is available from September 19 to 25, as the setting sun glitters over the water.

Kaiseki and cocktails night at Prefecture 48, CBD

Thursday night is prime time for a four-course dining experience led by two esteemed Sydney chefs: Darren Robertson of Three Blue Ducks, and Derek Kim of Garaku, the futuristic kaiseki restaurant within Prefecture 48.

Come Alive With the Seasons is available at lunch or dinner on September 18, with just 40 seats available at each sitting. Floral Sakura-inspired snacks will kick off the meal, and there’ll be Roku Gin cocktails matched with each course. You’ll dine through the flavours and feel of spring, summer, autumn and winter. The one-day-only event is part of Suntory Bar, the three-month residency at the Japanese multi-venue precinct in the CBD.
