Chippendale Middle Eastern restaurant Barzaari has announced it will close on August 31. Owners Darryl Martin and Andrew Jordanou will put their full focus on the original Barzaari site in Marrickville.

Barzaari Chippendale also been looking after the menus for the pub and rooftop bar at The Old Clare Hotel; going forward, Clayton Wells’s diner A1 Canteen will handle those operations. Future plans for the Barzaari Chippendale space will soon be announced. The space was established when The Old Clare precinct opened in 2015. It originally housed British chef Jason Atherton’s first Australian restaurant, Kensington Street Social. Barzaari replaced it in November 2018.

Barzaari Chippendale will soon join the ranks of other recently closed Sydney restaurants, including ACME, Longrain and Paper Bird.

Barzaari Chippendale is slated to close on August 31.
