Two months after the Sasi couple and Morgan McGlone took over the beloved Darlinghurst dining room, they’re giving it a new look and name.

When news broke that Bar Vincent owners Sarah Simm and Andy Logue were passing on their Darlinghurst restaurant, adoring diners were worried they would lose one of their favourites. But then the Bar Copains team – Sali Sasi, Nathan Sasi and Morgan McGlone, also behind Bessie’s and Alma’s – swooped in. Because they had to.

“It’s our favourite place, it’s a Sydney institution, we’ve got to make this happen,” Nathan told Broadsheet at the time. “It’s such a great place, what Andy and Sarah do is so incredible. It’s just one of those things we naturally fell into.” They took over in April and services continued as usual.

But Vinny’s final service was on Sunday, with the corner spot now closed for a refresh. In August it will reopen as Vin-Cenzo’s.

“Since taking over we’ve been busy dreaming up what’s next for this much-loved neighbourhood spot,” the group shared in a statement. “We’re excited to introduce a new iteration of Bar Vincent as Vin-Cenzo’s this winter.”

Like we asked in February, will anything change? The relaxed, refined service? The homely menu? The half-serve pastas? The interesting natural wines? “Vin-Cenzo’s will continue to serve honest European food with a focus on seasonal local produce, but told through a new lens – with a fresh look and new name.”

Bar Vincent’s final service was Sunday June 15, 2025. It will reopen as Vin-Cenzo’s in August 2025.
