ANZAC Day. It’s a day full of proud tradition, a day of solemn remembrance and a chance to embrace this country’s larrikin spirit with a hearty celebration of all that we are. And what better way to do it than with a game of two-up at the local.

Historically illegal on every day of the year except ANZAC Day, two-up has become a national tradition, harking back to the days when the diggers of World War I played it to pass some time in the trenches. Continued on when veterans reunited each year on April 25, it finally became an accepted part of the ANZAC tradition. The rules are simple. Two coins are tossed by a spinner and bets are placed on weather the coins will fall two heads, two tails or one of each.
