The king of cake, Andy Bowdy (of Hartsyard fame) is popping up on Bourke Street this weekend.

Bowdy (born Andrew Bowden) will take over Artificer Specialty Coffee in Surry Hills this Sunday from 10am.

Following his departure from Hartsyard, Bowdy is pursuing his love for cake full-time with an online website dedicated to individualised orders. He has plans for monthly appearances at Artificer, with the cafe playing host to his wild pastry creations.

A selection of his signature whacky baked goods will be on sale this weekend, which include previous creations such as dramatic cakes in such flavours as carrot cake with cheesecake and blood orange and chocolate fudge cake with Milo mousse and Malteasers, and salty chocolate pies.

Artificer is selling Bowdy's goods until they're gone (which, if history is any indication, won't take very long). Get in quick; this is sure to sell out fast.
