As a fashionable flock of international delegates, media and buyers begin their descent on Sydney for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia this week, Broadsheet announces an exciting behind-the-scenes collaboration with Australian-born international model Montana Cox.
Last year, we handpicked six Instagram ambassadors to frame their fashion week experience exclusively for Broadsheet. This year, we’re honing in on one.
Rising to become one of Australia’s most in-demand models after winning Australia’s Next Top Model in 2011, Montana has walked for some of the world’s most coveted fashion houses – including Christian Dior, Lanvin, Kenzo and Chanel – on runways across the globe. But this week, she’s back home to walk for some of our favourite local designers, including shows with Romance Was Born, Camilla and Marc, Dion Lee, as well as Elle Australia’s debut show to launch the magazine and close fashion week on Friday night.
Offering a rare insight into the workings of the festival, Montana’s coverage of Fashion Week Australia for Broadsheet will take you behind the scenes and into the frenetic goings on backstage, on the runway and after the show each day, not to mention all the chance happenings and encounters in between.
Complementing our more traditional Fashion Week coverage, including rundowns on the shows and galleries from the runway, Montana’s exciting visual report will get you front row access to some of the week’s best runway shows and sneak you behind the scenes as models meet designers, go to fittings and get their hair and make-up done.
This year’s MBFWA is shaping up to be one of most exciting yet, with runway shows being held at Carriageworks for the first time, offsite shows around the city, exclusive presentations near the beach and after-parties to celebrate late into the night. Start following #broadsheet on Instagram and check back daily online to see our Instagram highlights, all thanks to Montana Cox.
