Every year sons and daughters all over the world spiral towards an all too familiar panic toward the end of April: ‘What should I get mum for Mother’s Day this year?’

Well, don’t fret. Your worries have been put on hold, thanks to Sydney-based stylist Megan Morton, whose new pop-up retail space in the MLC Centre is solving both gift and stylistic woes citywide. In the heart of the CBD, Morton’s colourful store is a world away from blazers, briefcases and business meetings. Based on Morton’s latest book, Things I Love, the store is filled with all manner of multicoloured furnishings, neon lights, heart shaped wall hangers, decorative pillows and tea towels with motivating messages.

Morton hopes that people will pop into her pop-up on their lunch break and choose something special for themselves or a loved one. On Mother’s Day, Morton will be offering complimentary manicures and personalised Polaroids, plus pillowcases kissed with a red heart (made in collaboration with Rachel Castle), various ‘No. 1 Mum’ rosette badges and oak chopping boards by designer It’s Me Jen B! cut into the shape of a pineapple.

Add a Morton flavoured pop to your white walls at home, with a splash of neon colour, a handcrafted indulgence or a couple of knitted apple covers, for chilly apples everywhere.
