With a 6am call time, people are already starting to get a bit tired. I literally wake up five minutes before the cab arrives to pick me up, I love sleeping and it doesn’t take long to get to Carriageworks from Darling Point where I live with a friend. First show today is Ginger and Smart, clean and structured clothes with messy hair. The garments are tight with lots of colour. Green, blue and pink prints and midriffs showing. I personally really like them.

The designers are there watching over everything. They're making sure the hair and make-up is perfect, checking everything is tip-top. Genevieve, the head designer takes control of everything, there’s not really anyone else there to do it, and it’s her vision. The designer is the last person you see before you walk out down the catwalk. The set up for this show is all black and white, there’s music playing and it’s upbeat, cool and effortless. With a 10am show, we’re rushing to get to the next show at midday – Tululah.

A bunch of us run to this show to get ready and there’s about eight people on each girl at one time, doing nails, hair, make-up, fitting clothes – it gets pretty hectic backstage.

There are a few of us doing a bunch of the shows this week. There are probably four main girls for fashion week; Julia Novis, Nicole Pollard, Ruby Jean and myself. These are the girls who have done well overseas last year.

We also saw Hanne Gaby walking around today. She’s a Belgian model that Russh have flown over here from New York. She's here to walk for Ellery.

After Tululah at midday, we had Dion Lee in the evening over the Bennelong restaurant at the Opera House, which is pretty special. It was quite chilled out compared to the other shows, a much smaller show (13 or so girls) at a sit down dinner. The clothes are sharp and tailored and the hair and make-up was nice and light. Dion was backstage with us and Christine Centenera from Vogue was there helping out too. We walked out between the tables to slow music, so it less of a traditional catwalk show, more of an informal runway/presentation. It was great.

After the show me, Nicole Pollard, Amanda Ware and Olivia Thornton (all from Chic) went to a 24 hour diner. We hadn’t eaten all day, so had some nachos and a beer and went home about midnight for a few hours sleep before another 4am start.
