The alarm goes off at 5am, with a call time of 6am for hair and make-up on day one of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. Shows are back-to-back and excitement is electric at the festival’s new location at Carriageworks. It's such a great spot.

Monday began with classic tailoring from brother/sister duo Camilla and Marc (my favourite show for the day), followed by colourful Aboriginal-inspired prints from newcomers Roopa Permmaruja and then Romance Was Born’s crazy colourful wonderland in the evening.

It's always such a different production with these guys. Hair and make-up takes four hours for something like this - there's just so much detail in every outfit and look from bob wigs to shiny pom pom nails and girls being rolled in glitter on the floor. This was definitely the most fun show. In fashionably late tradition, the RWB show started an hour after its scheduled slot, so our long day finished at about 10.30pm.
