Run by husband-and-wife team Ben and Jessica Di Donato, St Peters’ DD&Co has moved from Sans Souci to bring salon expertise to the suburbs. “It’s our passion to do all the colours of the rainbow for hair,” says Ben Di Donato. “We always say life’s too short to have boring hair.” DD&Co uses top hair products from international and local brands, including Eleven Australia, R+Co, Olaplex and Bleach London.

If your first concern is the environment
Birthplace of the Original & Mineral (O&M) hair-care brand, Alan Buki for O&M.syd salon in Paddington is the place to go for an earth-conscious cut. The salon’s environmentally friendly hair-colour products are ammonia, resorcinol and paraphenylenediamine free, so they’re gentle on the hair, scalp and hands. The range includes 99 shades of permanent colour and 28 shades of demi-colour tones.

If you don’t want to break the bank
The Australasian College Broadway is one of Australia’s leading schools for hairdressing, beauty therapy, make-up and intense pulsed light (IPL) training. The college offers professional hair treatments without the price tag. A haircut with Anthony costs $700, including a shampoo and conditioning treatment, a 10-minute rejuvenating scalp massage and blowout. “We work with your natural texture and we enhance that,” says Nader.
