The first adidas Originals Neighbourhood store opened in Berlin in early 2014. It aspired to capture the spirit and youth of the city. Once the design foundations had been laid, adidas took its unique concept stores to cities such as Shanghai, Seoul, London and now, Sydney.

The Sydney store has been designed to reflect the aesthetic adidas has pioneered over the years; its signature Originals trefoil, stripped walls and industrial ambience. It stocks all the latest releases (Yeezy Boosts included).

In the spirit of celebrating Sydney’s creative scene, the store will host an exhibition until February 25 featuring local influencers, including Clovelly-based photographer, Cloudy Rhodes; abstract artist Will Cooke; and designer and model Raenee Sydney. They have been successful locally and internationally, but all have a connection to their city that is integral to their craft. “Waking up in my neighbourhood is the ultimate departure point, each day a different source of inspiration to the next,” says Cooke. “As an abstract painter, exploring the histories of art, design and music, I identify with the store concept, encapsulating a raw energy and being a platform for local creatives.”
