If you’ve been mulling over a winter coat purchase of late, you might be interested to know that Uniqlo is opening two new giant stores in Westfield Miranda and Westfield Parramatta in time for the autumn/winter season.

Since opening two stores, one in Midcity in the CBD and one in the Macquarie Centre late last year, Australia has welcomed this Japanese clothing line.

With pieces made from cashmere, merino wool, linen, silk and the brand’s own Ultra Light Down, Uniqlo offers what a lot of high quality international imports can’t – affordable clothes that will last. Shoichi Miyasaka, CEO of Uniqlo Australia says this is its point of difference, “Our product itself is high quality and affordable, and we focus on our customers’ experience of our stores.”

Miyasaka says that despite being a Japanese brand, the aim of Uniqlo isn’t to sell “Japanese” clothes, “Rather, ours is a global brand with Japanese DNA. In Japanese culture attention to detail is important. We always aim for the highest quality and we never compromise on any level of production.”

The two new stores will have a similar spacious concept to the previous Sydney stores, illustrating this focus on detail, “Everything about the store layout should be neat and clean, how we use the space is very important to us.”

Offering men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, Uniqlo’s style lies between the classic and the preppy: collared shirts and dresses, block colours and all the basics you will ever need. Many of its pieces are made to be layered, so it is the perfect place to build up your wardrobe for the brisk weather ahead.
