Just in time for an Australian winter, Swedish accessories label TRIWA has released its spring 2014 range of his and hers timepieces and sunglasses. With a simple yet elegant aesthetic, this collection captures the look and feel of a European beachside holiday.
After launching in 2007, TRIWA achieved cult status early on for providing forward-thinking, yet traditionally inclined, customers with modern accessories that combine clean, understated Scandinavian design with bright colours. This focus is, according to TRIWA’s sales director Tobias Ericsson, what makes the brand stand out. “As our world changes with technology, all our digital devices have time-display functions,” says Ericsson. “We saw the need to produce something creative and contemporary and transform the watch industry. The idea of the watch has become more of a fashion statement than a functional timepiece.”
And this couldn’t be truer of TRIWA’s latest release of sleek watches and eyewear.
Inspired by the rich colours and stark contrasts found in the landscape of Istanbul, TRIWA’s spring 2014 collection extends its existing selection of stainless-steel designs. Its iconic Lansen is now available in two new finishes: gold and brushed steel. It also comes in a new chronograph series.
But for those who prefer the look and feel of leather, there is the new addition to the classic Niben range; with purple detailing and a double-wrap strap in organic tan leather and vibrant purple canvas.
The brand’s latest drop of sunglasses is equally minimalistic. Handcrafted using acetate and Class 1 Lenses in a variety of tints, these are all about thick frames offset by bold shapes, reminiscent of Hollywood in the ’40s.
