Surfboards by Sibella Court and McTavish

Renowned for her eclectic style, Sibella Court has been creating her covetable travel-inspired interiors for many years now, working with retail giants like Bergdorf Goodman in New York, and some favourite late-night spaces like The Beresford and Palmer & Co. on her home soil.

Lately, Court has joined forces with iconic surfboard brand McTavish to reveal a luxe new collection of custom boards, 12 months in the making. She named the range ‘Gypsy’, taking inspiration both from her travels and from global beach culture.

Inspiring you to take up the waves, or to simply hang each board up as its own unique piece of art, each design was hand-crafted by Court herself, with the help of specialist techniques courtesy of a team of talented Australian dyers,designers and artists, and a hand from McTavish’s master laminator Billy McLean.

The ‘Gypsy’ collection consists of five prints, with three released so far; an indigo diamond print referencing the bright colours of the Turkish coast, a jungle print reminiscent of a 1970s Havana parlour, and an flamboyant flamingo design, inspired by Court's recent trip to the Galapagos Islands.

Court’s styling company, The Society Inc. is a self-proclaimed treasure trove of oddities and curiosities collected during her globetrotting adventures, lending itself to her particular brand of interior decoration. She has also written several design books including her latest, also titled Gypsy, which is the companion to her previous title Nomad.

The Sibella Court x McTavish ‘Gypsy’ boards are available in sizes 8”2, 8”4 and 8”6 as a single fin or 2+1, the long boards are easy to ride and priced from $1995 + freight. Contact The Society Inc to enquire about custom boards.
