Street Style: The Best From Afterpay Australian Fashion Week 2022 – Part Two

On the last two days of fashion week, Sydney’s style set showed no signs of creative fatigue – instead, they brought the goods with kaleidoscopic colours, outstanding levels of quirk (hello, aviation hat and knitted bonnets) and Big Tulle Energy.

We’re calling it: Afterpay Australian Fashion Week 2022 has put the fun back in fashion – both on and off the runway. From the playful Ken Done-inspired pieces at Romance Was Born’s gloriously phantasmagoric show, to the thrilling colours and shapes on the First Nations closing night runway, colour, texture and sculptural silhouettes dominated this year’s genuinely exciting roster of shows.

Off the runway, things were equally stirring. Knitted bonnets, extravagant eyewear, pompom jackets, a gown of orange tulle and even an aviator hat were spotted on fashion week attendees over the last two days of fashion week. Here are some of our favourites.
