For those who need to try on dozens of pairs of sunnies or glasses before they commit, and who don’t trust buying frames online, there’s a remedy in the form of Oscar & Frank. The venture is a new pop-up in Darlinghurst that seeks out local and international designer frames. Stocked with names such as Illesteva, The Row, EDL Paris, Grey Ant, Fan Optics, AM Eyewear and Sunday Somewhere, the store is small but full of quality eyewear.

Oscar and Frank also happen to be the names of the two dachshunds who seemingly head and model for the sunglasses boutique, supported by their personal assistant and representative, Mitch Burgess. Weird marketing stunt or wonderful idea? We’re not entirely sure. But if you’re lucky you will spot the poster boys in their natural habitat of the eyewear store – so it’s certainly adorable if you’ve got any inkling of affection for sausage dogs. Be warned however – if you’re a fiend for frames then it’s worth getting there fast; many of the frames are one-offs or in limited supply so once they’re gone, they’re really gone. You’ve got until mid-April to find the right pair.
