Despite the increased internationalism of Australia’s retail landscape, there are still several brands and products that aren't so easily available. Cue Japanese powerhouses Uniqlo and Muji.

With the announcement that Uniqlo will soon be coming to our shores, the dream of easy access to this Asian mega-brand is edging closer. But if you can't wait until then to get your fix, the Amasia pop-up in Darlinghurst has got you covered.

An online store that sells sought after Japanese brands in it's regular form, Amasia has recently opened a pop-up shop that they've charmingly dubbed the Ephemeral Store, so you can touch and try on your goods before you buy. Not only do they carry Uniqlo and accoutrement mecca Muji; they also stock the hand-blown glasses of Shotoku Usuhari, Kaikado tea caddies, Kwan Loong medicated oil and Sori Yanagi kettles. And for a taste of the homeland, they also sell Sriracha Hot Chilli Sauce.

So for the bad news first: it wraps up later this week. But the good news is that if you miss your chance, their online store means you need never worry about having to track down that elusive hot chilli sauce again. That and the fact that you also have Uniqlo and Muji at your fingertips. It's comforting.

Amasia's Ephemeral Store is open until December 23.
