From soft silk and flowing florals, to bohemian kaftans, the designs of Megan Park have, for the past 15 years, transcended the seasons. And as of late October they transcend cities, with the opening of the first Sydney-based Megan Park boutique.
“Having a [flagship Sydney] store allows us to create the complete world of Megan Park, where each and every detail is considered and designed to complement and elevate the collection,” says Park.
Interior designer Suzie Stanford, alongside Park’s husband and business partner Anthony Cox, designed the store. Neutral wooden floors and clean white walls complement the heritage architecture of The Strand Arcade and provide a minimalist backdrop against which Park’s vivid, bold designs take centre stage. Crystal light fixtures and original artwork by Stanford and artist Geoffrey Nees decorate the space. Bespoke garment rails featuring quirky brass owls, kangaroos and lemurs rescued from Sunday markets and op shops speak to Park’s unique eye.
Park’s pieces are feminine and elegant with a touch of bohemian glamour.
The Sydney customer is, “Relaxed in her attitude and is attuned to, but not dictated to by fashion,” says Park. “She tends to like the idea of something feminine, timeless and yet still very current for the season ahead. Summer is not summer without plenty of colour.”
Megan Park’s flagship Sydney boutique will also stock homewares, accessories, her children’s line, Girl, and the Holiday by Megan Park collection.
