Louis Vuitton is bringing the glory days of New York to Bondi this July through a menswear pop-up.

Known for clever collaborations with artists from Colette to Jeff Koons, Louis Vuitton has teamed up with Supreme for its autumn/winter 2017 menswear collection in an ode to New York in the ’70s, ’80s and early ’90s. The likes of Keith Haring, Jean-Michael Basquiat and Andy Warhol – and their glittering social lives – are referenced in the design.

Why would a French fashion house founded in 1854 team up with a New York skateboard label? “It’s uptown and downtown, artists and musicians, friends and heroes. No New York City men’s conversation is complete without Supreme,” says Kim Jones, Louis Vuitton’s men’s artistic director.

The collection went down the runway in Paris in January, creating a real buzz. What stood out was how much the silhouette has changed – it’s looser, wider-legged and lower-crutched than ever before. Camel trench coats were accessorised with skateboards lined in the Louis Vuitton print, alongside bandannas, gloves, phone cases, bum bags and skate chains.

While Louis Vuitton has been tight-lipped on what the pop-up will involve, expect bright tangerine backpacks, leather goods, ready-to-wear, shoes and accessories, alongside exclusive items only available at the pop-up.

The Louis Vuitton x Supreme Men’s Pop-Up Store will be open from June 30 until July 13 at 95 Roscoe Street, Bondi Beach.
