The high street designer collaboration is a phenomenon that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. That said, the latest collaboration to arrive on our shores, ALDO RISE, takes a slightly different approach to the norm. Paired with some of the smaller talents coming out of London, ALDO RISE sees international designers unite with footwear powerhouse Aldo to extend their creative visions to shoe design for Spring 2012.

The first ALDO RISE line-up includes labels Preen, Faster by Mark Fast, J.W. Anderson and Libertine. Designers from each brand have worked intimately with industry footwear designers to produce a footwear range that works in creative harmony with their Spring Summer 2012 collections.

The result is a lust-worthy collection that is accessible in terms of price without sacrificing design values, with intricate detailing and strong silhouettes the key.

The Faster by Mark Fast design is a fierce pump in a candy-like sheen, with bubblegum pink and minty green punctuated by Fast’s trademark torn stocking motif. J.W. Anderson gives craft an industrial twist with a collision of textures applied to a classic pointed toe and ankle silhouette. ALDO RISE x Preen takes an architectural turn with a pixilated mule to match a feminine pastel collection. In contrast, Libertine’s chunky wedges emit attitude with a paint-splashed finish in black and white.

Though ALDO RISE is another label fusion in a long line of similar partnerships, the designs speak for themselves. With an innovative team of designers pushing their skills in new directions, ALDO RISE takes the high street collaboration to a whole new level.

ALDO RISE Spring 2012 is available in Aldo stores from Friday April 13.
