Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA) will take over Sydney on May 13. After opening last year’s festival outside Sydney Opera House, Dion Lee has passed on the baton to Sydney’s Camilla and Marc this year. The brother-and-sister duo are celebrating 15 years in the industry and have asked New Zealand model and rising star Georgia Fowler to open the show at the Royal Hall of Industries on Sunday.

For most of us, fashion week is enjoyed vicariously by trawling through Instagram and online street-style galleries. But the MBFWA Weekend Edition gives the public the opportunity to sit front row and attend a string of events.

Here is Broadsheet’s guide to getting amongst it this year.

OPENING NIGHT

Mercedes-Benz Launch Party with Client Liaison
To celebrate the opening of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weekend Edition Client Liaison is hosting the official launch party (with drinks and snacks) at Carriageworks where they’ll perform a ’90s synth-pop set. Melbourne bandmates Monte Morgan and Harvey Miller are making the trip north to showcase their first fashion collection, Client Liaison Deluxe Line.

Friday May 18, 8pm. Over 18s only.
