Alan Norman is the man behind Campbell & Hall, a new range of men’s underwear and sleepwear that, as the name suggests, is inspired by the streets of Bondi. “Campbell & Hall came about from the continual frustration of family and friends who were always commenting on how difficult it was to find comfortable, classic underwear and sleepwear for the average guy,” says Norman.

With more than 20 years of experience in the fashion industry, working in visual merchandising, branding and product design, Norman brought together a team of professionals to create his own label. The debut collection is clean and cohesive – a comfortable uniform for advocates of a laid-back life.

The design team, who mostly grew up in Bondi and still there, were challenged to create a range of products that traversed all age groups and demographics in the area. “You just have to walk along Campbell Parade to see the diversity and variety of people attracted to Bondi and we hope that this openness to diversity is represented in our brand,” says Norman. The obvious unifier of these groups is a proclivity toward the aspirational coastal lifestyle that Bondi Beach offers.

This culture is central to the line of refined basics, reflected in crested T-shirts, fitted underwear and slouchy pyjama pants that sit just so. The collection’s fun maritime prints are executed in a toned-down nautical palate of grey, navy and white. The label also prioritises sustainability with all products produced under the Ethical Trading Initiative.
