With the cooler months in sight, now’s the time to make the most of Zephyr. High above Darling Harbour, this rooftop oasis pairs sweeping water views with drinks to match. And until March, it’s your go-to mezcaleria in the sky, with limited-edition agave cocktails created in collaboration with Don Julio and Mexican-inspired plates to keep you going well past golden hour.
On the cocktail front, it’s all about Don Julio’s Rosado tequila. Cool down with The Frosado – a shaved-ice refresher with grapefruit and crème de pamplemousse – or turn up the heat with Fire and Tide, a spicy sipper with charred pineapple, jalapeno syrup, and Tabasco. Both are on the dedicated menu of Don Julio Rosado drinks, which, alongside Zephyr’s huge bank of signature cocktails and spirits, ensures no two visits feel the same
Meanwhile, Zephyr’s summer dining menu will transport you to CDMX with handheld snacks like flathead tacos, cheese empanadas and beef barbacoa sliders. Large dishes to share include lamb loin with chimichurri and king prawns with chile negro butter. Splashing out? Go for the signature lobster popcorn with truffle bearnaise.
The space has also copped a Latin American makeover, with sculptural succulents, mosaic tiles and terracotta accents. There are roaming bongo players on Fridays and live DJs spinning tracks on Friday and Saturday nights.
But Zephyr’s mezcaleria mode is here for a good time, not a long time – so make sure you book ahead.
