Ring in the Year of the Metal Ox – and get a shot at some cool prizes – with Asian-inspired Glenfiddich cocktails at this intimate Chinatown whisky destination.

To celebrate the Lunar New Year as part of the wider Sydney Lunar Festival, intimate Chinatown cocktail bar Bancho has developed a month-long special menu of eight themed cocktails.

The whisky-forward destination has also partnered with Glenfiddich on four such drinks with bartender Bill Ng, to showcase the fruity, malty notes of Glenfiddich single-malt whisky against a bold backdrop of Asian-inspired elements.

Try the Good Juju ($23), which pairs Glenfiddich 12 single malt with jujube red date syrup, lemon and a float of five-spice red wine, the bubbly highball Fruitful Year ($16), which mixes Glenfiddich 12 with pear, preserved plum and soda, and the Mugicha Manhattan ($23), a twist on the enduring classic that marries Glenfiddich 12 with sweet vermouth, roasted barley tea syrup and whisky barrel bitters.

Also look out for the Lantern Blazer ($25), a showcase of Glenfiddich Fire & Cane that’s been infused with black sesame and peanut butter, then blazed with Drambuie.

Sample any four cocktails in person at Bancho for a chance to win a bottle of limited-edition Glenfiddich 21 Reserva Rum Cask Finish, graced with an illustration by Chinese artist Rlon Wang, or a spot for you and a mate at a tasting event where Glenfiddich Brand Ambassador Ross Blainey will be uncorking the new Glenfiddich 23 Grand Cru.

Other cocktails on Bancho’s Lunar New Year list using other spirits include the Lai-see Spritz ($20); Spring Festival ($22); Monkey & the Ox ($22); and Yee-Haw ($21).
