Vivid Art After Hours 2019
Over three Wednesday nights, Vivid’s ideas and music programs will converge at the Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW).
Enter the gallery after hours to see highlights from the Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes 2019, The National 2019 and The essential Duchamp exhibitions, join a drop-in-and-draw session with a well-known artist, practice mindfulness, or listen in on a series of art-appreciation lectures
On May 29, as part of Vivid Ideas, broadcasting personality and self-confessed “bad Buddhist” Meshel Laurie will discuss spirituality with writer Benjamin Law. The following week, on June 5, poet and author Omar Musa and artist Abdul Abdullah will consider creative practice as an outlet for “other” voices. And, for the final instalment in the series, on June 12, the stars and producers of ABC’s hit show You Can’t Ask That will talk about belonging, identity and creativity.
Each week will also feature special live music performances – including tributes to classic Spike Lee soundtracks and the songs that accompanied the first moon landing – and more.
