The creative gallery and concept store sitting on a bright Darlinghurst corner is celebrating two laps around the sun with the launch of its first group exhibition.

Over the last two years, Brent Gold and Jade Gillett have curated a stunning space for creatives: Rainbow Studios. Sitting on the corner opposite Bill’s in Darlinghurst, the duo have held exhibitions, events, workshops and more in their intimate digs. Now, to celebrate two years in the biz, they’ve curated a spectacular group exhibition – with an all-out opening night celebration with perfected pours courtesy of Ester Spirits.

On Thursday September 28, the inaugural Visual Arts Club – which is tipped to become an annual event – will launch, bringing 20 Aussie artists together to show their works in tandem. Kubi Vasak’s artful chop-and-change collage pieces will be on view next to Abbey Rich’s technicolour artistry and Melbourne-based Jordan Fleming’s impressive golden sculptural pieces.

The line-up continues with Joshua Space’s poignant mirrored works and his Recycled Chair, Louis Wayling’s nostalgic Australiana scenes, and oceanic tableware and sculptures from Marrickville-based ceramicist Milly Dent. Each of the 20 artists will also bring a never-before-seen piece, created especially for the event.

If you can’t make it on opening night, head in to Rainbow Studios on Saturday September 30 for Artist Talk, a free conversation-based session focused on creative collaboration in the current day. Or if you want something more hands-on, head to Vasak’s collage workshop on Saturday October 7 or a gin masterclass with inner-west experts Ester Spirits on Sunday October 8.

Rainbow Studios’ Visual Arts Club 01 is open from September 28 till October 9, between 10am and 3pm. The opening night celebration is on September 28 from 6pm to 9pm, RSVP required.
