The 24th Greek Film Festival

Fri 13th October, 2017
Palace Norton Street
9 Norton Street, Leichhardt
Price: $16–$20
The 2017 Greek Film Festival starts today.

One of its highlights is on tonight: the light-hearted comedy The Bachelor. It follows Katerina – daughter of Greece’s most renowned cardiac surgeon – who is about to marry the love of her life, Antonis. The only problem? Antonis is simply an undertaker and is not deemed worthy by Katerina’s elitist father.

Also screening tonight is Amerika Square (the winner of this year's Los Angeles Greek Film Festival). It delves into the current refugee and displacement crisis in Athens by depicting the life of Nakos, a hateful, unemployed local who blames refugees for his struggles.
