TextaQueen Exhibition at Sullivan & Strumpf Gallery

Sat 4th March, 2017 – Sat 18th March, 2017
Sullivan & Strumpf
799 Elizabeth Street, Zetland

Gods Save the Queen is an exhibition of self portraits by TextaQueen, "Australia's felt-tip super-heroine", as she explores her roots as a second-generation immigrant from India.

Through this, she uses animal, spiritual and other cultural iconography to articulate her experiences of the politics of race, sexuality, gender and identity under the veil of (neo)colonialism.

She does all this with a felt-tip marker.

Opening Saturday 4 March, 3pm-5pm.
