Sydney Ube Festival

Sat 5th October, 2024
Sydney Town Hall
483 George Street, Sydney
Price: Free
Head to Town Hall for a one-day-only celebration of all things ube and Filipino.

Ube (“oo-beh”) is a purple root veggie – a close cousin of taro – and also the unofficial mascot of Filipino culture and food.

This month, the Sydney Ube Festival returns with a purple-hued celebration at Sydney Town Hall from 11am. Enjoy ube treats and shop for unique ube products, Filipina fashion, and modern and traditional crafts.

There’ll be live music and performances by artists from Sydney and the Philippines. And a Baybayin (Indigenous Filipino script) writing workshop and language classes.

Bookings for the free event are essential.
