The Powerhouse and Ace Hotel have joined forces for a series of talks about a range of topics, from emerging technology in fashion to urban food production.

Spend your Friday afternoon getting enlightened by design experts, curators, doctors and artists at three short talks that explore various elements of design. Urban food production, how materials intersect with culture and politics, and how new technology is transforming the Australian fashion industry are all on the table for discussion.

2–2.45pm Across the Table Powerhouse Vitocco curator and artist Gillian Kayrooz leads a discussion on connections to land and food through cultural, agricultural, culinary and entrepreneurial practice.

3–3.45pm Material Matters Artist and co-director of UTS Material Ecologies Design Lab Dr Kate Scardifield leads a conversation exploring the entanglement of materials within cultures and politics.

4–4.45pm Circular Fashion Technologies Sustainability impact strategist and founder of Newromantic Valentina Zarew hosts a discussion on emerging circular technologies and their impact on the Australian fashion industry.

Tickets are $10 per talk for general admission or $25 for all three talks. Concession holders can purchase tickets for $8.
