Sydney Cabaret Festival
The inaugural Sydney Cabaret Festival will be a week to remember. It's bringing international icons and local talents to stages across Sydney.
Tony Award winner Jennifer Holliday, who has performed on Broadway in musicals such as Dreamgirls, is coming to Australia for the first time. And musical comedy cabaret double act from the UK Frisky and Mannish, and cabaret artist, musical-theatre performer and recording artist Alison Jiear, make their returns. Local legends Phil Scott and Jonathan Biggins will also perform, as will Sydney favourite and Helpmann Award nomineeTim Draxl.
Cheeky Cabaret, a circus and variety show from Brunswick Heads, is bringing its acrobats, comedians, hula-hoop queen and a score of other entertainers for nightly performances. The restored Sydney Cabaret Competition will also be holding its grand final.
A piano bar will operate throughout the festival’s run, for tipples before and after the shows.
