The Starward Flight at Bennelong Lawn

Over the last 15 years, Melbourne distillery Starward Whisky has become synonymous with Australian whisky. The first and only Australian distillery to be named the Most Awarded International Distillery at the 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, Starward Whisky has once again earned the title this year – taking home eight platinum medals at the 2024 awards.

To ring in the summer, Starward Whisky presents a five-day whisky tasting at Bennelong Lawn above the Sydney Opera House forecourt. Step inside and be surrounded by projections as you sample Starward’s tried-and true flagship drop at this theatrical pop-up inside a custom-built, 12-seater structure for the whisky-curious and enthusiasts alike.

At this exclusive pop-up, visitors can taste Starward’s flagship Two-Fold whisky as well as a New Old Fashioned – with distillery-made orange bitters and wattleseed-and-demerara syrup – and a special collab with Chappy’s Chips to snack on. Perfect for summer entertaining, Two-Fold is a unique wheat and single malt whisky that’s folded together and matured in Australian red wine barrels. Balanced with notes of juicy red fruit, oak spice and sweet vanilla, Two-Fold takes surprisingly well to chilled summer cocktails as well as neat or over ice.

Tastings take place in 30-minute sittings from Wednesday November 13 to Sunday November 17. This event is strictly 18-plus only. Bookings are essential.
