The Star Championships Day One
Come for the first day of the The Star Championships, and stay for a post-race dance party helmed by Hot Dub Time Machine.
Dubbed ‘the grand finals’ of Australian racing, The Star Championships represent the centrepiece of the six-week Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival – just don’t forget the black-and-white dress theme.
Headlining the first day of the two-day Championships are the $2 million Group 1 Australian Derby and the $3 million Group 1 The Star Doncaster Mile, both with origins dating back to the mid-1800s. Eight other races complete the day.
In addition to the requisite dining and pop-up bars, there will also be the annual Fashion Stakes competition. And this year’s new feature is aptly titled: The Playground is a laidback lawn party featuring giant-sized lawn games, in-demand DJs and refreshments from the Canadian Club Bar.
Once the last race has finished, stick around for Hot Dub Time Machine, the chronologically genre-bending work of world-renowned Sydney DJ Tom Lowndes.
