Song for the Mute Immersive Concept Space
Song for the Mute tapped a handful of creative collaborators to interpret its latest collection, 19.2 Hunter, through their chosen medium. The collection’s themes have been translated into specific sensory experiences that tap into sight, sound, touch and smell.
Presented by the Australian Fashion Council, this is a new kind of retail space for the label (which has its flagship store in Glebe). Find it in The Rocks from September 5 to October 7.
A limited-edition, collaborative roll-on scent fulfils the smell aspect. It was made using organic and biodynamic ingredients such as eucalyptus, pine and arnica. Only 30 bottles will be available to buy.
Queensland-based duo Lastlings has created a 40-minute soundtrack that captures the ambiance of Australia’s natural landscapes, using field recordings and found sounds from the hinterlands of Southern Queensland.
Further collaborators include Hermetica Flowers, a contemporary florist based in Woolloomooloo, which has drying a selection of native Australia flora over eight weeks.
From 10am to 6pm.
