Manly Japanese rock'n'roll bar Daniel San is having a month-long celebration of sakura (cherry blossoms). With the now-blooming buds in mind, Manly’s beachfront izakaya will be transformed into a cavern of pink, with a flush of blooms from floor to ceiling. There will also be a cherry blossom-inspired menu, with pink foods and drinks and cherry cocktails.
From the first day of spring, Daniel San’s chefs will be having fun with the theme, serving pop-up specials throughout September. Expect sakura mochi ball skewers, sakura burgers, pink pork bao, sakura sushi and Daniel San's taiyaki (fish-shaped) waffles stuffed with Nutella. Drinks will be served equally pink with cherry and sakura cocktails to match your colourful meal.
Daniel San is also offering weekday deals: a $20 Kirin beer and burger deal, and a $25 Koyomi cocktail (Japanese shochu, soda water and zesty ingredients) and bao deal. Those who like plenty of booze with their blooms can go for bottomless blossom Bellinis for $59 on weekends at lunch.
