Manly Japanese rock'n'roll bar Daniel San is having a month-long celebration of sakura (cherry blossoms). With the now-blooming buds in mind, Manly’s beachfront izakaya has been transformed into a cavern of pink, with a flush of blooms from floor to ceiling. There is also a cherry blossom-inspired menu, with pink foods and drinks.
Daniel San’s head chef James Bae has been having fun with the theme, and will be serving pop-up specials throughout the festival. Expect sakura mochi ball skewers, pink burgers, pink pork bao and sakura sushi, all available à la carte.
Daniel San is also serving sakura-inspired cocktails. Gin Fizzes, gin Martinis and cherry blossom Bellinis are all available in varying shades of pink. Visit on weekends for a bottomless Bellini special. For $59 you'll get two hours of Bellinis and a sakura tasting plate.
