Rollerama Festival at Darling Harbour
Dig out your lockdown skates – there’s a pop-up roller rink coming to Darling Harbour. Skaters of all skill levels are welcome (a separate rink is available for newbies to the skating scene), and you can BYO skates or simply hire them from the on-site rental shop. Plus, coaches will be on hand to share tips and tricks.
In the evenings, from Wednesday to Sunday, DJs – including the Dollar Bin Darlings, Victoria Anthony, Carolina Gasolina and Charlie Villas – will blast tunes beneath a disco ball. Punters visiting on Tuesdays will get 25 per cent off entry, and on Thursday nights skaters are encouraged to glam up in retro outfits. On March 26, the Sydney Roller Derby League will show off their skills in 20-minute demonstrations at 11.50am, 1.50pm and 3.50pm.
Fancy a feed? A roll-up bar is popping up in the forecourt of the nearby Pumphouse Sydney. Skate over for brisket and gouda cheeseburgers, stacks of waffles, sticky barbequed wings, and peanut-butter-and-jelly thickshakes. There’ll also be two bars on site: one in a shipping container serving a roller-rink-themed menu, and a Mr Black trailer serving Espresso Martinis on tap.
Daily, at various times.
