Roku Gin Sakura Pop-Up Bar
Over 12 nights through spring an intimate Surry Hills venue will transform into a pink and white sakura (Japanese for “cherry blossom”) garden hosting Roku Gin cocktails. Inspired by the Japanese springtime tradition of hanami, there will also be bento boxes by Surry Hills small bar Tokyo Bird and bespoke, sakura-inspired Roku Gin cakes from Chippendale dessert experts Koi Dessert Bar – only available at the pop-up.
An exclusive menu of six Roku gin cocktails, inspired by cherry blossoms, hanami and the shared excitement of the season will be on offer. Sip cocktails amidst a sea of flowers and dine on hanami bento – a traditional box meal enjoyed under the sakura trees, including sushi and karaage chicken. Finish with Koi’s Roku Gin sakura dessert featuring matcha jaconde, yuzu, strawberry compote and berry mousse infused with Roku Gin.
Throughout the series you can also join Tokyo Bird’s gun bartenders for a special Roku Gin botanicals cocktail masterclass, which explores the premium craft gin by way of its signature seasonal botanicals. Each botanical is harvested in its peak month (sakura leaves and flowers are harvested only in spring). During the masterclass you’ll also learn to make your own Roku Gin cocktails and ensure each creation is to taste.
The Roku Gin Sakura Pop-Up Bar runs Thursdays to Saturdays with nightly sessions from 6.00pm to 7.30pm and 8.00pm - 9.30pm. The ticket price includes one Roku Gin cocktail, a hanami bento and Koi dessert.
