Jameson Irish Whiskey and McClure’s Pickles take over the Oxford Tavern for a whole day dedicated to the pickle.
You can sample pickle beers by local good guys Batch Brewing Co and Yulli’s Brews or, if you’re the type to chase whiskey with brine, Jameson has curated a pickleback list featuring a slushie inspired by the infamous shot combo.
The Oxford Tavern’s executive chef, Richard Price, will fire up a one-off menu on the day, including pickle-brined wings, fried pickle dogs and pickle pops.
There’s also a pickle-eating competition – the first to finish a jar of McClure’s wins a bar voucher – plus the Oxford Tavern is giving out free antacids on the day, in case you get too pickled.
