Some top Australian chefs are offering cooking classes in May that will help to empower survivors of domestic violence.

The Our Kitchen Table programs are run through safe houses and shelters. For every ticket bought for the one-day intensive cooking class, one woman will receive a place to attend the six-week cooking program.

The first one-day course will run on May 23, with instruction from Danielle Alvarez of Fred's and Mike McEnearney of No. 1 Bent Street.

The second one-day course is on May 29, run by instruction Jock Zonfrillo of Orana and Jemma Whiteman and Mike Eggert of Good Luck Pinbone
