Korean performance art in collaboration with Australian artists. And a congee breakfast tour.

Lee Kun-Yong – one of Korea’s most influential conceptual artists – is known for performances that explore the connection between the human psyche and the gestures of the body. This exhibition, Equal Area, features photographic documentation of Kun-Yong’s performances from his close-to six-decade career. It also includes four performances and live interventions by Australian artists over the five weeks of the exhibition.

Many of Kun-Yong's performances incorporate acts of repetition to test the relationship between logic and actions. Australian artists Huesyin Sami, Daniel Von Sturmer and Emily Parsons-Lord build on this idea to present their own works and performances in collaboration with Kun-Yong’s work.
