A Night In Quarantino With Van-Anh Nguyen
We're missing many things right now – live music, out of town trips to wineries, hearty meals shared with friends and family, and international trips to the Mediterranean. While we're still waiting for these all to come back, at least we have the next best thing.
Concert pianist Van-Anh Nguyen – whose 2020 Peaceful Piano Essentials album topped the Aria Classical Charts – has teamed up with pop-up and private dining experience The Blue Door and Italian winemaker Sensi Vini to transport you to Italy through music, food and wine.
The trio is putting on a virtual dinner-and-show for Sydneysiders. It's an extension of Nguyen's Perfect Pairings, a concert concept that pairs music to wine.
For dinner, Blue Door chef Dylan Cashman’s creamy (and cheesy) Wagyu ragu lasagne is made with pasture-raised Gundooee beef layered with creamy bechamel, Gruyere, parmesan and handmade pasta. There's also a vegetarian option with mushroom, eggplant and pumpkin. Booze-wise there's a selection of five 65-millilitre jugs of different Tuscan wines, courtesy of Sensi Vini.
There are four different ticket options available, depending on how much you’d like to indulge. The Works offers everything: access to Nguyen’s two-hour concert (sent through a private Youtube link), Cashman's lasagne and the five wines (all delivered to you on the day). You can also purchase access to the concert and food only, the concert and wine only, or just the concert.
Food must be ordered by the evening of Monday July 26. Delivery is limited to the Sydney area, but you can enjoy the concert from anywhere.
From 7.30pm.
